Senator Trillanes: “We will fight evil as it comes”

Ni Wilfredo G. Villanueva

(Second of Two Installments)

“We will fight evil as it comes,” sabi ni Senator Antonio F. Trillanes IV sa aming conversation. Ginamit niya ang pronoun na “we” in reference to Magdalo, from whence he comes.

Mahigit 22,000 readers sa The Society of Honor website. So, yang 33,000 na yan, ‘di accurate yan.

Parang walang alinlangan, totally dedicated, 100 per cent present. “We will fight evil as it comes,” pakatatandaan.

Meron, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation o HSBC.

Maari bang magkaroon ng isa pang People Power?

“Decency oozes out of her,” he said. “In light of what’s happening now, with Duterte the way he is, kitang-kita ang importance ng goodness in a person.”

Kasalanan ba ng 16 million kung bakit nagkaganito? “It’s not the fault of the people who voted for him,” he said.

To be in power forever ang gusto niyang mangyari. Purge of his enemies ang style niya.”

“Romantic tayo as a people,” he answered. “When we see a person, we turn him into something he is not.”

The biggest lie during the campaign was that Duterte was pressured to run for the presidency, That it was like a spur of the moment thing. No. Duterte’s presidential project started years before the election. Akala natin wala siyang agenda. Meron.”

“He did the rounds, flirting with the public at na-intrigue ang Pilipino.

How does he relax? He likes watching movies, yung bida si Tom Cruise, Will Ferrel at Mark Wahlberg, mga paborito niya.

Hindi daw, pero spiritual siya, believing in the primacy of God’s will.

“The real picture will be revealed,” yun lang ang sagot niya.

Magtapos tayo sa pagka-Magdalo niya. “We appreciate gestures of support,” he said. “Pero tuloy lang kami, we will fight evil as it comes.”

    • Vhin AB says:

CJM, napanood ko yon. Pareho lang silang bastos ni Sen. Enrile.

Pacquiao? I don’t need to say more.

    • Welcome to the blog, cjm. So for you, it is President Duterte’s word that counts above all others. Without interviewing President Aquino, who authorized the back door effort, and knows what was attempted, you are prepared to judge a man’s character? I think you need to broaden your knowledge beyond what one person, or one political persuasion, is telling you . . . lest people think you are just trolling.

      • There is a posting going around with snippets of the hearing with Enrile and a similar interpretation to that of cjm – so it is likely that this is the troll messaging from “Central”.

Shows a certain desperation I think in trying to dig up stuff where they can’t find any.

        • BTW I have seen that chempo has an article coming on the alleged bank accounts.

Pure nonsense that Duterte is saying, that the waiver of Trillanes may be useless because of what Duterte alleges are “different versions of the name Jr, IV etc.” in the “accounts”.

In the Philippines, a negligible difference can cause at least half an hour of questioning, abroad it isn’t like that – proof of Duterte’s extreme provinciality. “Antonio Trillanes” in the waiver is perfectly fine. That and the date and place of birth will suffice in the international context.

          • andrea says:

I will foreward to reading the article on bank accounts. 2013 pa lang may group na nagsusulong ng Duterte for President at well funded ito. that’s all i can say because way back then they are recruiting members of the movement. my question then was who is funding this?

            • Jun Aristorenas says:

            • Jun Aristorenas says:

Andrea……even before Du30 declared his candidacy…..kumpleto na pundo….sa tanong na who funded his candidacy ?

          • It is a super article, filled with facts. A Chemrock special.

        • Thanks for that info. It seemed ‘canned’ to me because it lacked real information.

  3. NHerrera says:

    More! More!

  4. Kailangan ang isang katulad ni Sen. Trillanes sa panahong ito. Will, salamat ulit.

    • NHerrera says:

If I observe things correctly many — and this includes some of us at TSH — are watching and analyzing the trends relating to where Duterte and his minions are leading the country, and those opposing him. It is relevant to ask if the two trends will intersect at a critical tipping point. Senator Trillanes is certainly instrumental in working towards some tipping point.

Having said that, of the “six honest serving men” of Rudyard Kipling, we may set aside the what, why and who for now. But ask only the when, where and how?

  5. Edgar Lores says:

  7. karlgarcia says:

Will salamat sa follow up article.

    SOUNDS OF SILENCE

Trillanes to Duterte: SIgn the waivers!

China to Duterte: We will keep annexing your territories, and allow shipment of shabu. Shut your mouth!
    Duterte: (silence)

    • NHerrera says:

Deafening Silence indeed — from an otherwise uncontrollable mouth, but you caught him unprepared; for one, he has to have a prop at the back of him which Bong Go, he with camo, gun and bandolier (?), was not able to provide.

    • grammy2342 says:

The Sound of Silence…a real classic and very appealing.

  11. JEM says:

I am guilty of being a lurker. I’ve been an avid reader of your blog since last year and this is my first time to comment. I discovered this blog through GRP (getrealphil), they mentioned about how biased this blog but when I started reading it na mulat ako sa katotohanan. Thanks TSH.

    • Glad that you find the blog meaningful, JEM. I’m banned on GRP because back in, oh, 2009 or 2010, I called benigno a hypocrite. So I no longer visit there, but did smile when they made the list of fake news sites. We have some good minds here, bound to civility and laws, but most have absolutely zero political affiliation. So there is nothing to gain from commenting except the well-being of the Philippines.

      • jem390 says:

They blocked me as well after our heated argument with Ilda. GRP is a sponsored blog of Marcoses its evident so it’s pointless to read their well cooked article spreading nothing but hate and discontent. Anyhow, I learned so many things from here, you are feeding good information based on fact and I’m always impressed every time you call a spade a spade, no-holds-barred regardless of one’s political affiliation. Keep it up.

    • NHerrera says:

      AND IF I MAY ADD

JEM, nice to have a fellow pilgrim or traveler in TSH. There is variety here — humor, satirical comments but most posts are based on facts, which are corrected by others if wrong, with corrections kindly acknowledged for the most part.

As one commented (I am paraphrasing) — TSH is an oasis in a desert of dumbed-down commentaries and fake news.

  12. Mercedes Dantis Lazaro says:

I love Joe America, really like to see him one on one with British Malcolm Conlan. Surely it’ll be epic considering their both foreigners with opposite views.

    • Thanks for introducing me to Malcolm Conlan, who definitely travels in circles I shun, those that go gaga over Mocha Uson. I therefore find it hard to take him seriously, but have not read anything he’s written, so I don’t know if there is principle behind his thinking or just happy times. He can visit here any time, of course.

  13. grammy2342 says:

    If there’s anything I can say about him – it’s this;

    Palaban at walang sindak.

Sana lahat tayo matutong lumaban at hindi masindak.

Fight the evil.

Fariñas seeks House members’ immunity from minor traffic offenses

Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas on Monday asked traffic enforcing government units to excuse lawmakers from arrest for minor traffic-related offenses, citing the importance of their participation in legislative processes.

  15. Waw. If this is modern day La Solidaridad, I’m even prouder now to be part of its Library. I only pray Joe would keep “Malate” even if my ‘photographic essays, off the beaten path’ transform into modern day Diario de Manila, thanks to Mr. Death-terte.

    See you all in Luneta.

    • No, this is not a place of protest, just ideas. If the ideas seem to line up against killings and incivility and incompetence, that is because the acts ‘out there’ seem to germinate them and provide a lot of fertilizer.

  16. andrewlim8 says:

Here’s something for the primitive-minded supporters of Duterte who think the person, not the institutions are more important:

    http://bworldonline.com/think-tank-says-phl-political-governance-weakest-asia/

You cannot separate the economic from the political. A poorly run state with no regards for rule of law or human rights will deteriorate.

Build, build build will become crumble, crumble, crumble!

You cannot build subways, bridges and highways on the bones of the dead and Chinese-supplied shabu! The foundation of the economy will be brittle and unstable!

    I am exploring meme making.

Question to TSH readers: how do you embed images in your comments?

    • Edgar Lores says:

      *******
Paste the URL on a line.

Some URL’s from the net do not link properly. URL’s from soc-med (YouTube, Imgur) generally behave properly.

I notice if the URL is a kilometer long, it may not link properly. To overcome this, I would import the image to my laptop, transfer it to Imgur, and embed the Imgur link to my post. It’s rather roundabout.

I haven’t posted an image from Facebook. I understand there are associated “permissions.”

The first link below is to the Kutna Hora article. The second link is to a photo in the article.

      https://eoingrosch.wordpress.com/2008/10/01/kutna-hora/

The links are as follows without the opening/closing quotes and the full stops replaced with “dots”

I obtained the photo link by doing a right click on the image and copying the link address.

      Let’s see what happens. 🙂
